Parents can create special memories with the kids at Canada’s Wonderland

I was one of those people who practically grew up at Canada’s Wonderland. I came as a kid, as a teenager with my Season Pass, but then in my university years I moved away, started a career, had a family and hadn’t been back in ages.

When I moved back to the area, I couldn’t wait to get my kids to the park and begin re-creating all those memories that I held so dear. There are a lot of parents in my position who come back as soon as the kids are old enough – but as I talk to people, I find there are also those who have forgotten what Canada’s Wonderland is all about. They think it’s just about the rides and big thrills, so what would they do here with their little kids?

Well, let me tell you. Where to begin?

Two children’s attraction areas

We’ve got two attraction areas devoted to children’s rides and entertainment: KidZville and Planet Snoopy. From the classic Swan Lake to the Carrousel to Ghoster Coaster (which was for children of many generations, their first roller coaster experience – mine included), there’s plenty of pint-sized attractions for the little ones to keep them entertained all day.

Jam-packed lineup of events and entertainment

Throughout the season the park also offers live shows and entertainment, like daily dance parties and musicals with Snoopy, Charlie and the Peanuts Gang in KidZville, the Flying Frontenacs Stunt & Dive Show in Medieval Faire, and the Victoria Falls High Divers at Wonder Mountain. We have a new Cirque-style show in the Canterbury Theatre, called Tundra: A Cirque Experience, Ultimate Thrills Circus returns to International Showplace with the Human Cannonball, the Globe of Death motorcycle act and many other daring stunts! The kids will love seeing the super dogs in The Woofjocks Canine All Stars (make sure to stick around until the end for the meet-and-greet with the pups!).

My boys meet Ant Man during KidZfest. They were thrilled!

Come to the park for KidZfest – our big party just for kids with Marvel Superheroes, Paw Patrol, dance parties and a foam pit. Plan ahead by checking out event dates and performance show times.

Cool off at Splash Works

When the weather gets hot, bring the kids for some water play at our 20-acre water park! It opens on May 25. We’ve got big slides for big kids, but also a great selection of kiddie slides and water fun at Lakeside Lagoon, the Pumphouse, Splash Station and Sprayground. Consider renting a cabana in advance with pool-side service, chaise lounge chairs and more at White Water Bay wave pool.

Make it a special day for yummy treats

So perhaps the kids aren’t allowed sweets and treats every day, but occasionally we make special exceptions, right? Share a funnel cake, topped with our signature strawberry sauce and ice cream, or try a Beavertail, some of our hand-crafted baked goods at Mountainside Bakery or pop in to the Sweet Shoppe on International Street. In my family, it became tradition to stop in there on the way out for a little bag of sweets to enjoy on the ride home.

Find those amazing photo ops and capture those memories

Get your mobile phone ready to capture some great photos of you with your family – or have one of our staff do it for you with our FunPix photos.

Squishing in for a selfie at Wonder Mountain.

From the fountain at the entrance, to Wonder Mountain, the Victoria Falls, the rainbow bridge to Planet Snoopy and the dozens of great spots with our rides in the background – Canada’s Wonderland provides the best backdrop to your perfect family photo and selfies! Plus, don’t forget to catch our Peanuts characters during their meet and greets for a photo with Snoopy, Charlie and the gang.

Canada’s Wonderland is a playground for all ages. In its 38 years, it’s created countless memories for families on their special day out – and will continue to do so for many generations to come.

(PARENT TIP: All of the events, daily shows and Splash Works are included with admission or your Season Pass. If you're planning to come at least twice this year, a Season Pass is your best value, even just for the flexibility of coming and going as you please. With little kids, you never know when you might need to cut your day short. It's a nice peace-of-mind to know you can come back another day to pick up where you left off).
